There are generally two
auctions each year, in the Spring and Autumn. The auctions are open to members
only, however, the Auctioneer invites entries of suitable material from
non-members. The minimum lot value is £5 (preferably £10). Basic Brunei,
Labuan, North Borneo mint stamps are not in demand. The 1888, 1934 and 1947
issues of
Modern stamps of Malaysia
or Brunei are only limited interest unless they are
exceptional varieties, for instance missing colours
(but not colour shifts) or watermark or perforation
varieties. There is some interest in modern postmarks on cover. First Day
covers and miniature sheets covers do not normally sell.
There is interest in fiscal
or revenue stamps but stamps on original documents are more likely to sell than
used singles.
The auctioneer urgently
requires good material. If you wish to submit lots you are advised to
send the auctioneer a list of items in advance.
VENDORS: 10% for first £150, 5% on lots selling for £100 or more and 8%
thereafter.
PURCHASERS: 3% on all purchases. The cost of all postage is additional.
Auctions will be held at the Spring meeting in
the West of England in March and at the Autumn Weekend and AGM in October.
