I have in my possession a stamp SG126 the 1c Puple with the BMA overprint except that the A is in fact an inverted V or an A without the cross bar. The inverted V is thinner than the other 2 letters.
Have you come across this error or do you feel it could be a one off or a forgery?
Your comments would be appreciated.

I have also a strip of three from somewhere else on the sheet, all with the horizontal bar missing.
These are all on the one cent sheet, and I have not seen or heard of this 'flaw' on any other denominations.
Hope this helps.

Many thanks your E Mail re 1c purple Sarawak with BMA overprint.
I assume from your E Mail that your copies are all Mint, mine is used.
The reason I query the overprint is because of the postmark which is a
circular date stamp but with only the circle of the date stamp and nothing
else, no date, no town or city name and to me looks highly suspicious.
The stamp has been sent to Murray Payne to look at and no doubt will be
mentioned in their Sixthsense.
Richard Lockyer of the KG6 Collectors Society has no note of this variety.
It might be worthwhile mentioning it to him, also Murray Payne.
Thanks once again.
